Terms & Conditions

Read carefully – these terms govern your alpine adventure with Jalpa Alpine Holidays.

Effective from: May 12, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website, booking any tour, trek, or package offered by Jalpa Alpine Holidays ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services or website. These terms apply to all visitors, customers, and users.

2. Booking & Payment Policy

Booking Confirmation: A booking is confirmed only after we receive a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total package cost (or as specified in the invoice). The remaining balance must be paid no later than 15 days before the departure date.

Payment Methods: We accept bank transfers, credit/debit cards (via secure gateway), UPI, and cash (in-person only). Any transaction fees or currency conversion charges are borne by the customer.

All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to modify prices due to changes in government taxes, fuel surcharges, or unforeseen operational costs, but we will notify you in advance.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellation by Customer:

  • 30+ days before departure: 70% of total package refunded (deposit non-refundable).
  • 15–29 days before departure: 50% refund of total package cost.
  • 7–14 days before departure: 25% refund.
  • Less than 7 days or no-show: No refund.

Cancellation by Company: If we cancel a trip due to insufficient bookings, natural disasters, government restrictions, or safety concerns, you will receive a full refund or credit for a future trip. We are not liable for additional expenses such as flights or accommodation you booked independently.

Refunds are processed within 15 business days via the original payment method.

4. Health & Fitness Requirements

Most of our trekking and adventure packages require a good level of physical fitness. It is your responsibility to ensure you are medically fit to participate. We recommend a medical check-up before booking high-altitude treks (above 3,500m). Pregnant women, individuals with heart conditions, severe asthma, or other serious ailments should consult their doctor and inform us in writing.

We reserve the right to refuse service or remove any participant from a trek if their health or behavior poses a risk to themselves or the group. No refund will be provided in such cases.

5. Insurance Requirement

All customers are required to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

  • Emergency medical evacuation (helicopter rescue) up to high altitudes.
  • Trip cancellation, interruption, and baggage loss.
  • Accidental injury or illness during the trek.

You must provide proof of insurance before the start of the trip. We are not liable for any costs arising from lack of insurance.

6. Itinerary Changes & Force Majeure

While we strive to follow the published itinerary, weather conditions, road closures, political unrest, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events may force us to alter routes, accommodations, or activities. Our guides and ground staff have the authority to modify plans for safety reasons. We will try our best to provide reasonable alternatives, but no refunds or compensation will be given for such changes due to force majeure.

7. Code of Conduct

We expect all participants to respect local cultures, traditions, and the environment. Littering, smoking in prohibited areas, or causing harm to wildlife is strictly forbidden. Any disrespectful or illegal behavior may result in immediate termination of your participation without refund. You are responsible for obtaining necessary permits (e.g., inner line permits for certain regions) with our assistance, and complying with local laws.

8. Limitation of Liability

Jalpa Alpine Holidays acts as an organizer and tour operator. We do not own the accommodations, transport, or third-party services used in our packages. We are not liable for:

  • Personal injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to property arising from participation in adventure activities (trekking, river rafting, skiing, etc.).
  • Delays, cancellations, or additional costs caused by weather, landslides, strikes, or any event beyond our reasonable control.
  • Negligence or actions of third-party suppliers (hotels, transport companies, etc.).

Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the tour package. You participate at your own risk and acknowledge the inherent dangers of mountain travel.

9. Photography & Marketing

We may take photographs or videos during trips for promotional, social media, or advertising purposes. By booking with us, you grant us permission to use such media without compensation. If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform our guide in writing before the trip.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or relating to our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. We encourage amicable resolution first; if unresolved, arbitration may be pursued as per Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
